Hi  Very Happy

I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm 29/yrs old and I've had lucid dreams for as long as I can remember. I honestly didn't even know what a lucid dream was until my 20's because I had never heard the term used before. So I just passed them off as "I knew I was dreaming".

After hearing a name for it I was then interested in doing some research. I never really tried Two reasons for this I think.

    1) I didn't find much content on the subject right away so I stopped looking.

    2) Every time I had a lucid dream I would end up running around like a chicken with my head cut off and instantly wake up. I would end up completely losing the dream. This became very frustrating to me. Especially when it was somewhat of an erotic dream.

A few years later I decided to reinvestigate this matter and I found/read that If you spin in your lucid dreams it would keep you lucid and hopefully prevent it from fading away. I tried the spinning technique and it seemed to work. The only part I didn't like was that I would lose the lucid dream I was in and end up in a completely new one (and sometimes lose my lucidity) when all I really wanted was to finish the first one. After probably 20 - 30 times of trying the spinning technique my first instinct became to immediately grab a hold something feel the texture of it, focus on it and try to remain as calm as possible. This method also worked for me and still does but I feel like I'm unable to control the dream.

It goes without saying I'm happy I found this website and all the resources it has to offer. Some of the reasons for joining this community is because I want have more control over the length and out come of my dreams. My ultimate goal at this point would be to create unique and compelling digital art stemming from my lucid dreams! Smile

I thought Lucid dreams were something everyone had on a regular basis just like me. After reading through the forums on this site I have found this is not true at all. So in a way I feel pretty lucky that I'm able to have them!

I really like that there is a workflow and training course outlined here. I found this website only a couple of days ago and have already accomplished my first goal of rubbing my hands together to prolong the dream and keep it more vivid, which I had never heard before but makes total since. I can't wait to accomplish even more of my goals. I also really want to become better at inducing the lucid dreams myself.

The reason for my post was to say hi to everyone, introduce myself and find people that I can talk with about the subject (since my considers me to be weird).

Thanks and I hope to have great discussions and digital art to share in the near future!

-Jamie

Hey Jamie! Welcome!
If you tend to teleport while spinning, I would advise using the rubbing your hands technique. Basically you focus on the feeling you get when you rub your hands together, forcing your brain to create details for the dream, so you won't wake up. But because you are just moving your hands, you won't teleport or anything, so you'll stay wherever you are.

Thanks a lot Thunal!

I did actually try this but only once. It was my first goal completed. I ran I to a problem though. When I rubbed my hands together it seemed like I had gloves on or something so I couldn't feel anything but the pressure of pressing against each other.

I can't wait to give it another shot and when I do I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out!

Rub your hands in real life, and focus on the feeling. Remember that feeling when you do it in your dreams. I have never done it that way, but it might work Very Happy
