Hello. My name is Joosep. Im 17 years old and I discovered lucid dreaming accidentally. I think it was some reference link from a dream interpreting site. This site I found by youtubing Lucid Dreaming 
I have been doing reality checks for like a month now. I do the one where you write a piece of text on your hand. Anyone who sees the writing for the first time and asks about it gets all excited and all. Noone really believes you can consciously dream. I didn't either until i had success. I really wanted to try if it really is possible. I had done reality checks about two weeks when I got lucky and remembered to do a reality check in a dream. The dream collapsed right away but at least I am sure now that lucidity is possible. I have also have had a lot of those dreams where you understand that you're dreaming but really aren't that rational to realise that you can change it.
I haven't written down any dreams though. I will start a journal soon. I do remember at least one dream each night. I have once remembered five and I remember two to three dreams quite often.
About dreamsigns. One certain dreamsign I have is a girl. She appears in every single dream I have. I don't know why that is so. She's my best friend too |

That makes it easy! Just do a reality check every time you see the girl, both in your dreams and in real life. |

That makes it easy! Just do a reality check every time you see the girl, both in your dreams and in real life. |
Make sure you aren't too awkward XD There are both discrete and "non-discrete?" ways to perform reality checks 
Also, the reality checks should only serve as a tool, from which you will eventually surpass in ability, and automatically get lucid.
