Last night I experienced sleep paralysis by accident and I had a hallucination.... I knocked out early and woke up at 3 realizing I didn't finish my hm so I finished my hm but my body was really tired but I just couldn't seem to fall asleep all of a sudden I was in sleep paralysis and I automatically associate it with hallucinations since that's what happened when I was little so all of a suddenly I see a hand reaching onto my bed as if someone was under it and they were almost about to touch my foot and I couldn't move but I closed my eyes and opened them and there was like a blurry image of and old man I freaked closed my eyes and decided the only way to escape from all of this was to just wild so i tried but failed and right after was released from sleep paralysis!!!!! How do I stop hallucinating when I enter sleep paralysis or at least make it less scary?!?! I'm also not completely sure if this whole thing was sleep paralysis or if it was a dream of me in sleep paralysis all I know is that I think I experienced all of it and when i opened my eyes the final time I could move and the man was gone! It was just all so confusing at the moment I can't really seem to figure it out but what I do know is that the night before I did have a dream of me trying to wild that ones for sure because I was wilding in a different location and I felt at that time like I was being sucked it into another dream _________________ Do a reality check! I'm sorry, but you can't stop it. It's the very nature of that altered state.
You can make them less scary though. The hallucinations are only scary when you are scared, because you are the one generating them. They "feed" of your fear. So next time, don't give in to fear, but face the hallucinations. See what you can do: smile, talk or just walk/fly away if you can. Know that they are some part of you, so they can't hurt you - but don't challenge or fight them. Confront them or ignore them. I know it's a lot easier said than done, but it's the only way.

The labeling is a lot less important than the experience and what you learn from it, but you were in sleep paralysis, otherwise you wouldn't dream (sleep paralysis prevents us from carrying out our dream actions in the waking world). |

But the whole experience was really fuzzy and stuff and my first sleep paralysis did not feel like that at all I will never forget that experience because I was completely conscious of the entire experience and till the moment my hallucination disappeared my eyes were open and I was completely aware in the one I just had I'm not even sure if I was really paralyzed I just saw that hallucination and hoped really badly that I was in sleep paralysis because I was freaked out of mind so I didn't attempt to move or find if I was really paralyzed but i felt like I could move and for that I felt it was a dream idk _________________ Do a reality check! Yeah, the whole sleep paralysis thing gets pretty freaky.
I used to always try to force my way out of it too but that just adds to the tension, and it never works anyway. Instead I tried relaxing fully and found that I was not actually in my body at all. I thaink like that is why I couldn't get myself to move. But once I'm conscious of being able to move away from my body it's easy... I believe that this is the state of being where we enter and return from the dream world, where we exist for a moment in this world but not fully within our bodies. |

Be happy when you're in SP, this is a big opportunity to LD, just try to focus on what you want to dream about. Once you realise the positive potential of SP it will become less daunting. _________________ La vida es sueño |

These hallucinations are called "Hypnogogic Imagery" and are completely normal. Think of them as foreshocks before the earthquake that is the dream. There's no way of getting rid of them, just your brain sinking into the dream state and nothing to be frightened of.
incidentally I've had a cannonball come towards me, so real that i dodged and woke up before. If youre attempting a WILD, it is inevitable that you'll have experiences like this. Just remember that nothing out there can hurt you and you'll be fine. _________________ Welcome to my Dreamworld. Watch out for the Saiyans... |

| I don't like sleep paralysis. I wiggle my toes until I can pop myself out of it....cant struggle cause then it is worse. Had hypnogogic images when it all started at age 19 with the paralysis -once swore my bros decapitated head was in my room (it was sidebview of dinosaur stuffed animal!!) I had bouts of sleep paralysis over and over every time I closed my eyes. It was awful. Had sleep studies and told it was anxiety. Now I only have a few times a year. But know how to pop out of it after a bit now......but lucid dreaming rocks!! |
