lateley ive had the best dream recall of my life every day almost crystal clear dreams and yet i feel more tired than usual the funny thing is not physically tired just mentally , head aches and such..
I was thinking ,as we all know when we lucid dream dream our brain works harder than normal even harder than when we are awake and i was wondering could this leave the dreamer more exhausted than usual?? _________________ my greatest challenge is not to dream about things in my real life but to bring into real life things that I dream. |

I just finished reading the book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming. in it Stephen Laberge says that usually physical exertion leads to more sleep other than REM and mental exercise/emotional exertion leads to more REM (dreaming)....so maybe you have a head ache due stress or something. Correct me if I am quoting LaBerge wrongly.
But ya I agree it is not because of dreams or lucid dreams. |

i understand your arguements but i simply brought this up because normal dreaming and lucid dreaming are not quite as simular as they may seem during lucid dreams our brain waves are working at a much higher frequency than during the day unlike regular dream which actually is lower than our waking brain activity.
so yaaaaaa not impossible,
but i do think i may have a cold so i should go eat some chicken noodle soup or somethin.... _________________ my greatest challenge is not to dream about things in my real life but to bring into real life things that I dream. |

For me I find that I dream, lucid or not, and wake up with excitement and energy. Enough so to make me write it down here or in a physical journal.
I would look at other sources of stress in your life to determine if it is the actual LDs that are causing the shit going on with you. If it actually is the dreams, which it may be because we're all different, its sad but LDing may not be for you.
But I don't think that's the case _________________ Never have an ordinary dream. |

Correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding of dreams is that the body, in part, uses them to recover from emotional/mental stress or to deal with these things. So I would think that having more dreams would cause you to feel better. Or perhaps having more/more vivid dreams is a sign that you are working hard mentally in waking reality.
I have an important question for you that may make things a little bit clearer Onazzer.
How much sleep are you getting? how many hours a night? |

first of all i admit i had a cold or something so now im fine....
but for arguements sake, you are still not understanding the point which im making. when you dream and when you lucid dream are very very different!!! when you dream normally your brain "slows down" and works a level lower than during the day called alpha frequency thus allowing you to recoup from the mental strain of the day but lucid dreaming entails your brain working in gamma frequency which is much higher than normal. this is where i base my question if you remove the time in your night when your brain recoups with a "workout" instead and constantly do so are there any negative effects because the "stress" builds up.
so technically dinfrie you not wrong just a little under informed _________________ my greatest challenge is not to dream about things in my real life but to bring into real life things that I dream. |
