|

There are three options to choose from when one is typing up a dream in his/her dream journal: Non-Lucid, Halfway-Lucid, and Lucid. What is Halfway-Lucid?
Is it when you're lucid, but don't have full control over your dream, or is it when you think you should've been lucid, but didn't realize it in your dream?
I just realized that the second thing I said there won't make sense to you guys at all...Unless you read my dream about my 'second WILD' titled: "Success Into Failure."
If you don't want to read it, here's the short, choppy version:
I tried to do my second WILD, and I thought I had failed. In my dream I woke up re-attempting to WILD, in the same position, on the same bed, same circumstances remember everything from waking life.
So there it is, maybe you understand what I'm trying to say now.
Hope you can help. Thanks! _________________ "Hell yeah. Freddy Krueger is in for a surprise tonight." |

Non-lucid: You only realize it was a dream after you wake up;
Halfway-lucid / Semi-lucid: You are in a dream and realize it is a dream but some things that shouldn't make sense continue to make sense OR you have the sensation it is a dream but you aren't really fully aware of it;
Lucid: You are fully aware that it is a dream;
Actually there are more lucidity levels (I think 5? There are youtube videos on this but I think I read it by LaBerge originally...) that define the state of the dreamer.
Anyway, being lucid or not has nothing to do with dream control =] You can be fully aware and not able to control your dream. You should be able to control yourself completely though...
Dream control is a skill in the lucid world, just like flying or having magic powers. Being lucid only means that you are aware that that world is a dream. _________________ If you live by the sword you will die by the sword |

Yesss, your post helped a lot, thank you. So my dream was not even halfway-lucid, lol. I've never been halfway-lucid. If my dream felt like it was a dream, I'm completely lucid, and start doing all that you explained. I don't think flying and magic powers are necessarily skills, though. Anybody can do that once he/she is lucid. At least I've been doing that ever since I was 5.
EDIT: I actually knew what lucid meant, but I've never heard of halfway-lucid. I didn't even think that was possible. So I thought that term was thrown in there for people that can't really control their dreams...even if lucidity means consciousness inside of a dream. _________________ "Hell yeah. No problem =] But I can tell you you are a lucky guy! Not everyone can fly or have magic powers in their lucid dreams that easily ;] That's why I said it is a skill you have to practice and learn =] _________________ If you live by the sword you will die by the sword |

Regarding flight, when I can't control it I fly really fast and constantly bump my chest in the ground. The force I have to do to rise again is enormous and the "air-flight" only lasts a couple of seconds. It becomes much easier when I am fully aware. This seems like a contradiction to what I said before but it's not =] When I am fully lucid I have better control over the dream but even in this situation sometimes I don't have the will power to make things happen. If for example I stop practicing for a long period it becomes harder to regain the control I had =] Not quite like riding a bicycle ;] _________________ If you live by the sword you will die by the sword |

Hmm, well how is it that you go about taking flight? That could be your problem. Hopefully you're back into lucid dreaming now and it comes easy for ya. _________________ "Hell yeah. Freddy Krueger is in for a surprise tonight." |

I just launch myself forward and imagine I can fly =P The imagination part is the one that sometimes fails. Of course, right? Because launching myself forward is pretty easy =P How do you take on flying?
Now I'm not practicing the actual flying, I just use it when I can to go somewhere I want _________________ If you live by the sword you will die by the sword |

Hahaha, I see. What exactly do you do with your body, though? Damn man, I fly all the time, because it's extremely fun for me. I used to fly (up till about two days ago) by running, leaping, and swimming in the air to get higher, or go faster. Now, I use the method on that old show called Dragon Ball Z. Swimming in air got boring afer almost 15 years of doing it that way lol _________________ "Hell yeah. Freddy Krueger is in for a surprise tonight." |
