Hi!
This is just a terrific movie!!! Their's a lot of real details in it that give us some path to explore as a lucid dreamer.
For me he is not dreaming at the end 'cause his totem start to move as it was about to fall and stop. But I think the interpretation is a matter of how you are and feel... If you are optimistic you gonna think like I think otherwise...
Anyway, this movie have to be seen more than once to fully understand the richness of the story... |

Yeah I went 2 times to the cinema already. The first time I thought he was awake but after the second time I began to wonder if in the end was a dream or not. The only thing you really have that can indicate that he is awake is that the totem starts to wobble. Any other proof that I might be missing? On the other hand be reminded that in no other scene his totem held for so long up straight (the only scene where it did that was when he put the top in her wife's safe, but then, of course, he was dreaming then). Other thing is that, how much time did he spend away from America without seeing his kids? Not week, right? More like months at least. So, how come in the last scene the kids are exactly the same apparent "body age"? Kids that young show notable differences in short periods of time. Besides being dressed in the same way as in Cobb's memories, besides being in the same position in the garden AND besides the words of the grandfather calling them are the same as the ones he hears in the dreams that call the kids and they run away to the side, even though it's a woman's voice... Hummm.. ;] _________________ If you live by the sword you will die by the sword |

| I'm just saying that there's already an established thread in the media section about Inception. Maybe it's just me but I'm tired of the Inception threads littering the forum. |

| I don't think he was dreaming just because he saw his kids faces at the end and he couldn't throughout the movie when he was in his dreams. I thought it was a great movie though, I wish they explained more about the technology they used to get into the dream state, and most importantly how to get into a shared dream. I'm going to go see it again this weekend lol |

| No, I don't think that it all was just one big dream, it wouldn't make any sense. |

In the deepest dream he didn't want to see his kids faces. Now that everything was okay he allowed himself to see their faces.
About the totem. It was made in this world, so the person whose dream it is, makes the totem act like it does. Therefore it doesn't matter whether it would fall or not, because it's the will of the person who dreams it (the architect).
So you can't be sure it's reality even if the totems falls... _________________ I shall forever remain mortal |
