I have a realy good dream recall (when it suits me).
Anyway... when i wake up in the middle of the night, i remember my dream, i realise that its a dream and then fall asleep to be having that same dream. Sub conciously i know its a dream but i cant get myself to realise im in the dream once im dreaming, if you know what i mean.
Its like, i know im dreaming, but i cant do anything about it.
Is there something i can do to MAKE myself realise im dreaming? |

Hi con_y2k6,
Let me just reasure you that you're not alone: I had a dream the other night, and it was SO obviously a dream that I felt a little sad when I woke up to realise that I hadn't realised it was a dream until I was awake! (I was playing football with my Mom, who's 73, in the house! And a strange version of Mom&Dad's house too. If that isn't bad enough, I live in Spain, and only see Ma&Pa at Christmas!) As yourself, I knew subconciously I was dreaming, but I just couldn't twig. Rats!
I need some work on this.
Good luck!

| Do the reality checks when you are awake many, many times. This will make sure you will do one in your dream and will help you get over that threshold. |

This may not help. Your problem is propably that you don't have enough practice in gaining lucidity. Focus on it before you go to sleep and during the day, do reality checks, most important, write down all dreams you remember right after you recall them. After a few days, a week or two, you'll find yourself conscious inside a dream. _________________ This is a signature. |

kylethebest2:
thanks for the advice - I tried it but as yet nothing. I recorded my own voice, in gentle mode and my mobile without vibrate. with increasing ring volume, I either sleep through it completely without (as of now) any noticeable change / interaction, or it just wakes me up. But will continue to test this...
Moto2000:
I have started to do waking time reality checks, and for 5 times now, as I have started to drift into sleep and dream, (sort of realising) I do a reality check in my newly emerging dream and it throws me into waking.
On the plus side, I've just had an ace dream that woke me up (very nearly) laughing. But I was a passenger, not a driver. |

I see... didn't have this before, I sometimes realise I'm dreaming just by thinking I'd like to make a reality check. Maybe try to stay calmer when you're making the RC, sudden movements and strong emotions may cause you to lose concentration on the dream and wake up. _________________ This is a signature. |

If you know you are in the dream at all you would be lucid dreaming... what it sounds like is you might be asking how to control the dream now that you know you are in there. That all depends on your level of medidation and mind training how well you can focus your thoughts and all that. There are different levels of consciousness in lucid dreaming at a low level you can't control the dream but you just know you are in there and that is a great step. You are well on the way you just have to practice and not give up. Hope this helped in some way!
Much peace and love to any who reads this. _________________ High Frequency Future |

i seem to have a problem just like that one,
I find myself laying in the bed and i can hear the music ringing and jolting through my body as i start to drift off, as soon as i see any imagery or dreams i wake up.
Is it because im TOO focused?
I'm just so ready to do it i've been trying for about 2 weeks after my first and i havent had a repeat yet.
It took about the full 2 weeks for my dream recollection to get ANY better,
but i've been writing down bits and pieces here the last couple of days.
My main point, is that i cant get past the Hypno-Imagery part without drifting to sleep or waking up!
i need some help:-\ _________________ -Juicebox- |
