The ancient Tibetan spiritual master Padmasambhava gave teachings on lucid dreaming and the experience of death as tremendous opportunities for awakening to the universal truth of things.
Do you think the experience of lucid dreaming offer insights into what the after death, bardo state could be like? |

| Do you mean that you think that dreaming is being halfdead? |

| No, not exactly. Throughout history there has been this parallel between sleeping and dying, dreaming and the after death state. Do you think that the dream state, or the lucid dream state in particular, could give some clues as to what the after-death state is like after we pass from this world? |

I would be very hesitant to assume that things I learn about the dreamworld also apply to the afterlife. The historical parallel between sleep and death is almost certainly based on the outward appearance of someone who is sleeping/dead, not the inner experience of that person.
Plus, the only way to test it would be to carefully record your lucid dreaming and then... die. So it's entirely speculative. _________________ "Now even if I lay my head down at night, after a day I got perfectly right, she won't know." |

"According to Greek mythology, sleep is the brother of death, an indication that the two concetpts have long been closely associated in the human mind. The reason is easy to see: both states are characterized by an inactivity sharply contrasting with the animate movement of waking life. And since the soul was regarded as leaving the body temporarily during sleep and permanently at death, sleep seemed a short death and death a long sleep. The straightforward association of death and dreaming naturally follows from dreamings connection with sleep. And the associations of sleep, dreaming and death with the darkness of the underworld are all quite obvious." --Stephen LaBerge, Lucid Dreaming the Power of Being Awake and Aware in Your Dreams, 1985. Interesting topic. I've thought about this and the only thing I've found so far is written in Michael Newton's books in which he takes people under hypnosis in their previous lives and between them.
People describe in the moment of their death a buzzing feeling in their years and after that the getting out of their body. The thing with the buzzing sound intrigues me very much, because it absolutely describes the sound people hear every time entering SP.
How about that? _________________ When I'm asleep do I really remember how to fly...and forget how when i wake up? Or I'm just dreaming i can fly? |

| I think is absolutely right. We enter into other frecuency range, vibrating higher because we have no physical body. Although, there are some who get stuck in this frecuency but vibrating a little higher because they have unfinished bussines, ghosts. |

GoldenAngel, so is this a prove that lucid dreaming is an out of body experience and not an ordinary dream? _________________ When I'm asleep do I really remember how to fly...and forget how when i wake up? Or I'm just dreaming i can fly? |

Guys, please prove to me the following things:
1. People are vibrating. (Don't come at me with string theory, I know my physics)
2. Ghosts exist.
3. Reincarnation exists.
4. The people aren't actually entering a form of SP when under hypnosis. _________________ Quare? Quod vita mea non tua est. |

TLS I can't put out theories that prove those things, but I can tell you simple things I learned from physics and reading books.
1.Not only people, but all living and non-living things vibrate with their own frequency. Including all cells in your body. That's why when people drive their cars, when the vibrating frequency of the car becomes the same as your own vibration frequency, you become dizzy and you don't feel well.
2.If only I knew if ghosts exist...
3.The same as above...I think that even people, who got back from death can answer you for sure.
4. When Michael Newton puts his clients under hypnosis they don't immediately feel and describe this buzzing feeling. He first ask them about their previous lives and relationships and then brings them to the moment of their death. That's when they all describe the feeling. But as I said, I've never been hypnotized and I don't know the methods or the theory. I'm sure that he would have described this if it was part of his experiments. _________________ When I'm asleep do I really remember how to fly...and forget how when i wake up? What I have learned from my teachers is that dreaming is very much like dying. In fact, the physiological process is almost exactly the same, except that not all of the five spirits leave when we sleep (the shen stays, for example), but all of them leave when we die. Some take longer than others to leave the body, so "dead" people have some sensory perception after they are clinically dead. This according to Taoist priest Liu Ming.
There is also a similarity in that we can very quickly see the effects of our thoughts within dreams. This is like when our five spirits leave and pass into the bardo state. When we are not afraid during this process and depending on the history of our actions, we can be reborn into very auspicious circumstances. Every night when we fall asleep and dream, we get to practice for the Big Dream.
Some Taoist and Buddhist teachers have said that if we are afraid and rush through the bardo out of sheer terror (and the shortest period of time to spend in the bardo roughly equals 49 days of our time), then we may be reborn as an animal or in less auspicious circumstances. We may be drawn to a womb that resonates with our fear. |

| No one has mentioned the key difference between sleep and death. Brain activity. Our brains our extremely active when we sleep. When we are dead, not so much. |

Comparing LD to Death is an indirect comparison. The notion is that if you can learn to remain outside of physical body without loosing awareness you will be able to do so when you die.
High brain activity is a result and not the cause of dreaming. |

From what I've learned, it's the other way around. High brain activity brings about the dreamworld. Also, when you're dreaming, there isn't any reason as to why you would go out of your body. It makes more sense that you stay in it, because of REM, high brain activity and all that. _________________ Quare? Quod vita mea non tua est. |

From what I have experienced and researched it's the other way around. Person at night acts like a transistor, receives a signal from the outside and subconscious interacts with that signal, therefor doing processing. As a result when combing all the people that are asleep you get a huge brain that processes information.
Whose brain? Well people for some reason think that our planet is a peace of rock flying through space, while in reality it is conscious organism of much higher level and biosphere of witch we are part plays large role in it's functionality. "Currents" run through individual people similar to synapses in the brain. Since this signal interacts with the person, there is byproduct that we perceive as dreams.
Combination of all the people asleep form dream world.
And yes you do move out of body, your awareness does.
People constantly ask question - why are we here? And no we are not here for the pretty faces, we are here to do very specific stuff, and we are doing it, we are part of an organism we call Earth. There are functions we have one of witch we fufull while asleep. |
