I have always wondered what would happen if you try to seek God in a dream, I recall that someone on this site tried to do so and something very strange happened. If I'm correct he suffered headache and saw very bright light and afterwards woke up.
My question is if someone could test this for me because I do not have frequent lucid dreams. It certainly is a goal for me but for now I'm really interested.
If unable to try this please share your thoughts. |

I would imagine your efforts to seek God in a lucid dream would probably reflect any success you might have had in the waking state. Just a thought.

I wouldn't say that I was seeking God but once, when mildly lucid I was roaming the countryside warning the many DC's around me -- in an appropriately booming voice -- that I was God here, and could do anything I wanted. On cue, the gray sky archetypically opened up above me, golden rays and all. A voice that truly shamed my proud shouting rained its volume down upon me with these words:
"No. You're not."
Considering myself humbled, I knocked off the god stuff and set about my dream with ironically much more awareness and control... |

Oh oke, interesting. Guess I was a bit wrong, but even so it will still stay a goal for me or a target. Thanks |

Are we talking God; the big guy in the sky. Or god; the metaphor for philosophical wisdom? _________________ La vida es sueño |

| I was thinking of God the big guy in the sky. I thought it would be a little hard to approach an thought. So actually I meant the big guy in the sky with the essence of "God". |

I talked to God very briefly while lucid once.
He was sitting on a very very tall chair and I floated up to him and said ' hey God, guess what? Im dreaming!'
and then I woke up.
I wish I could have explored that further. |

Well, About time an agnostic like me gave this a try. Lets see what happens when I attempt this. This should be interesting as I neither believe nor disbelieve in his existence. I think he might exist, yet he might not. Let's see what expectation wins out in my dream space. _________________ "Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night."-Edgar A. Poe

Ah, exactly as I expected, even though I hoped for some kind of amazing happening. You approached your idea of God so your idea of God will be created.
It certainly isn't disappointing! It just shows how complex and interesting your dream can be! I really appreciate your effort for me! Thanks a lot! |

Thats so interesting... I personally believe in God. I am in the religion of Islam and would feel absolutely lost without it... Your dream was pretty amazing, even the unlimited dream world didnt come up with an answer as whether its true or not, I guess only the true God could decide that for you. |
