I lucid dream a lot, but I found out something really weird. I have a much easier time becoming lucid in dreams within dreams rather than just dreams. For instance, last night I had a dream (non-lucid) about trying to fall asleep and become lucid. I fell asleep in the dream, started dreaming in the dream, did a reality check, and then became lucid. For some reason I have a much easier time doing that then in normal dreams. Is there some reason I don't do reality checks in normal dreams but do within dreams within dreams? Please respond.

Yeah, I've had that experience once before. I found it easier to lucid dream (much easier, in fact) when I think I have fallen asleep. It might be just easier to enter a lucid state with the knowledge that one is dreaming. I'll test it out next time.

In the dream your attempting to sleep and become lucid. Usually in a DILD or so, a reality check would come when something weird happens. However you most likely do reality checks in these dreams because your mind is on lucidity, and thats why its easier for you induce it. Simply because your mind was on becoming lucid.
