I heard about these suplements few days ago. My question is: are they safe to use, do they help for having lucid dream and/or lucidity level? |

Personally, I use melatonin if I want very vivid, detailed dreams.
Melatonin increases my dream recall and detail immensely. Unfortunately, I've never had a lucid dream whilst under the influence of it.
I'd imagine though it's not very good to take it every day. Your brain would probably stop making melatonin naturally (which it does, every night) if you used it too many days in a row, and well, it would suck to swallow pills in order to sleep every night. I'd personally keep use to less than once a week.
Side note: You're from serbia? High five dude |

Well, half serbian, half Canadian. Going to be staying there a month during the summer. Looking forward to it! |

| Melatonin is safe to use. We do not build tolerance or dependency to it. I take it nightly (fibromyalgia) as does my daughter (adhd). I have done a ton of research on it.....I take it and have lucid dreams on it regularly. |

There are many supplements and herbs out there that are believed to increase dream vividness, recall, odds of lucidity, ... but as far as I know, the most effective combination is probably galantamine and a choline supplement. Yesterday I made a blogpost about this: http://www.lucidipedia.com/blog/2012/04/11/power-galantamine/
I didn't mention this in the article, but for even better results, you could thrown in 5-HTP before bedtime (don't combine with excess B6 - from bananas for example). 5-HTP will cause a REM-rebound effect in the second half of the night. Melatonin can basically have the same effect, but 5-HTP is more optimal due to its longer half-life (a lot of melatonin would be required for the same effect). Melatonin is useful though for helping you fall asleep quicker.
Calea Zacatechichi ("dream herb") is also believed to be excellent for dream enhancement. I'm still working on experimenting with this herb. I'll write a report on the blog about CZ soon. |
