I really hope I have this in the right place. It would be cool if you guys could add a new section called "Questions" or something Smile
Oh yeah, and I'm new here, so... hi!

Okay, so I have been keeping a dream journal for about 9 months now, I do several reality checks a day including leaning on walls, pushing my finger into my hand, and spinning a quarter to see if it falls. During these reality checks, I ask myself if I am dreaming. People look at me weird a lot when I spin the quarter though, so I don't do that in public anymore xD I also listen to binaural beats and guided meditation to help induce lucid dreaming, and it never works. I have not yet had one lucid dream since I stumbled upon them a year ago.
Around October of last year, I figured out that I had epilepsy and Tourettes, and I tend to have Grand Mhal (I think that's how you spell it) seizures when I don't have enough nutrients, water, or sleep. So I am taking the drug Keppra, which helps lower down my Tourettes symptoms and seizures, which I take once in the morning and once at night. I have a hunch that these might be taking away my power to lucid dream. I don't exactly know how Keppra works, but I'm guessing it's a depressant? Because I kind of feel.. not myself lately. Maybe that's just something else though, who knows!
Aside from that, I also take B3, B6, and Omega 3 vitamins in the morning, and sometimes I take a Melatonin or two when I can't fall asleep at night (some type of sleeping disorder I presume).
So I don't want any supplements or vitamins or anything that hype my brain up in any way, just for the seizure warning stuff. Also, it might be harder for me to get to sleep that way.
Is there anything else I can do to help me with lucid dreaming? Like maybe taking some other vitamin (like the B vitamins or something) or another technique? Also, do you think my brain dysfunctions are getting in the way of my having a lucid dream? I also have A.D.D., if that means anything. So A.D.D., Tourettes, and Epilepsy. Oh and I'm also colour blind and I have Vitiligo, figured I may as well throw that in.

I'm stoked to start becoming a member of this community, by the way! Smile

From what I can tell, Keppra certainly has an influence on the brain. Do you dream? If so, give MILD+WBTB a shot. Best technique for beginners.

I looked briefly (very, very briefly, so don't take my word for this) at the research related to keppra and sleep (http://scholar.google.be/scholar?q=levetiracetam+sleep) and it seems like, if anything, it would improve REM sleep. So that would be a good thing.

How's your dream recall?

Also, don't say "it never works"; say "it hasn't worked yet". Big difference. Razz

Yes, I do dream and I can recall them very well. And okay, it has not yet worked Wink
I think I will try WBTB tonight, I'll let you guys know what happens!

My sister has Tubereuze sclerosis complex and she also has epileptic seizures, we tried different medication for her and we also used Keppra. You can't imagine the way she changed, she became very impatient, way less fun, she was pissed off all the time. That also is a disadvantage of Keppra, it can drastically change your behavior, and in a very negative sense. I would advise you to search new medication, I would advise Depakine, the only disadvantage is that is reduces your coagulation. If this is a major problem, you can try to combine it with Cyklokapron, this overcomes the disadvantage of Depakine. Ask your doctor for advice on this.
Good luck!

Well since this thread is about LD help and question I will use this to further any question related to LD in biology term.

Here I'm wondering; is it possible if we didn't dream at all when we sleep?

I'm practising WBTB for the fifth day. When I'm lucky I could remember at most 2 dreams and one dream that I couldn't recall in one sleep during those days. I really have fun recording all those dream in my journal even the dream were a horrible one.

This morning I woke up 2 times. It's a new habit that occur right after I practice WBTB. I didn't force it, it just happened. One time before I woke up I felt like I arranging something in my head and do dream recalling. It happened right before I really awake. But during the black out to when I open my eyes, I totally forgot what I'm dream about. Disappointed, I drift back to sleep. The second time I woke up, I can't recall anything. Maybe I didn't at all.
