(Part 1) On the morning of Thursday April 12th I had a dream in which i was passed a marijuana joint. I was apprehensive in the dream because i had not done it for months and didn’t plan on doing it again. However when it was passed to me i took one hit before it fell apart in my hands. I didn’t feel the effects in the dream.

(Part 2) Now fast forward to today April 16th. In the dream I had this morning I was confronted by my father in law about not doing drugs any longer. I told him that I haven’t done anything for months and that I don’t plan to. I said, “ if you don’t believe me give me a drug test”. I didn’t think he would but he left and returned with a drug test that looked like a zip lock bag with a red wax circle inside.

I gladly took it from him and proceeded to the bathroom to take the test knowing I would pass no problem. Then I remembered taking the one hit of a joint a few days ago. I got nervous and felt embarrassed because I didn’t want to let him down.

(Questions) So, answer me this readers:

How am I able to remember a minor experience from a past dream in a current one as if it were REAL and could still affect me?

Is the dream world somehow a REAL place?

Have any of you ever had a MEMORY RECALL from a past dream that you felt was real in a more recent dream?

Do you feel that WHO YOU ARE in the dream world is you but not you? With separate memories and character traits?

This is an interesting discovery for me and needs some imput from all of you to figure out more about such things.

I have also experienced this in my dreams 4amlucidity. I've experienced it in small ways similar to yours, but the biggest way I have experienced it is witha recurring dream.

I have this recurring dream about a certain house. It is not a house that exists anywere (that I know of) in waking life. However, each time I dream about it (and I have dreamt about it maybe 6 or 7 times) I remember having dreamt about it before. I will even tell the DC in my dream "hey this is the house I always see in my dreams". I've had a few lucid dreams about this house too, and it seems like somehow this dream is a central and important part of my dream world. I can't figure out exactly why. But each time I dream about it, I remember past dreams about it. They tell me where things are (certain rooms or windows) and what the street looks like outside of the house as well. I have dreamt about it so much I could maybe try and draw it. But its a very big and complex house with hidden rooms, long hallways, a big courtyard etc.

In one room of this house there is a big oval window that is carved like a gem. This same oval window is what caused me to have my very first lucid dream ever, and is very meaningful to me. However, at the time, it was in a different place. Now it is in my 'dream house'.

Sorry, I kind of deviated a little from the topic. But I guess perhaps there is a good dream sign waiting for you if you are able to carry concepts between dreams like that. Funny as it seem, perhaps you can use this memory of the crumbling joint to help leverage becomming lucid. The next time you think about a crumbling joint, do a reality check. Maybe you're dreaming.

i remember past dreams sometimes while dreaming. also i think the dream world to a indevidual person is there world that they have power over. so they can remember dreams there. and that there dream body does a bunch of stuff in the dream world while we are awake then we take over during sleep, hence dreaming about a place over and over, the dream body went there.

...wow i really tend to ramble

I've heard somewhere that dreams are just as real as waking life. If you work with your dream world and try to do cool stuff like lucid dreaming, you can come to a point where your dreams start to make more sense and they all start to connect.
It also might be a partial reoccurring dream!

Your dreams are made up from the building blocks of your subconscious.
It makes perfect sense to remember something from the past whether it was a dream or waking life. They are your memories.

It's a little off topic but the same thing applies with tripping out on drugs. One trip can reach back to past experiences even if you forgot about them in your waking life.

Yeah, this kind of thing happens to me as well. Sometimes it happens as a dream that I have SOO often, that I know it's a dream, and I can just end the dream right there and force myself to wake up, or I can just continue it in a non-lucid state, or just continue it in a lucid state.

Other: I've had continuums of dreams I didn't even remember until I had the second dream... It's really quite interesting.

I've dreamed about telling a friend of me about a dream I had in which he was a dream character. I actually had the dream I was talking about a couple of days earlier.
