I often have dreams where I know that this is just a continuation of a dream. I know that I am picking up a dream from years ago where I left off. And I've noticed that when this is true, I sometimes have the previous dream recorded. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and why this might happen. _________________ ~Live lucid |

An example of how it works:
Like last Thursday I had a dream where I was inside a puzzle game where I had to move these blocks around. My alarm woke me up in the middle of the dream.
Then last night I had a dream that started at that exact spot and continued from there. _________________ ~Live lucid |

glad about that McSnuggles, not that i had continued the dreams, well not from the exact spot, but happened to me, but i have 4 or 5 dreams that i have dreamed times and times again..
they are identical..it feels realy strange, some of them I know for sure that I didn`t dream for years and then it happens to me..
what is strange is that in dream it all looks familiar, (like) I know this dream and what is going to happen..never though LD-ed it..
for some reason I must play my role and when i wake up I know i dreamed it before..it`s weird... _________________ I`m too idle to have ideas - but I`m not too idle to think.. |

I have continued dreams before. The same night and over long periods of time. What really gets me, though, is if I'm in a completely dreamt up place I've never been to in my waking life, and I have another dream taking place in that same place possibly years later and I still know my way around and the place is exactly the same. That's a funny feeling. It can also help induce LDs. Say I realize I've been there before and I try to think of when, and I remember "Oh yeah! I was hear in a dream before! I must be dreaming!" Then it becomes lucid. It doesn't always get that far, though. Usually it's just that I've been there before, and I know I have, I just don't try to think of when. Then I wake up and realize I just had a dream in the same place I had a previous dream in. _________________ Last night I dreamt that I had a dream that I was dreaming about having a lucid dream in which I then used to create a bed and fall asleep only to dream about having another lucid dream. How deep asleep was I? |

This happens to me as well. I have about 3 dreams, all three were dreams that i had when i was 5 or 6, they were nightmares. I've continued to have them though, the same exact dream and the same feeling of fear, except that im older in all of them. When i dream those dreams now, i get scared and cant seem to recognise that im in a dream, though i CAN recognise why im facing what im facing (because in the last few years, i've done some searching as to the meaning behind each of those dreams)
Its pretty crazy really, its like, you're brain has the power and freedom to go all over the place and make anything you can imagine happen in a dream...yet you just keep repeating imaginations you've already had.
As for continuing dreams--mcsnuggles, you are lucid when you go back into them right? since you can recognise that you just were in that dream?
How do you do that? do you think about going bacck into the dream after you've woken? or does it just happen?
I find myself waking up, and getting into a new dream, and in that dream, telling the people in it about the dream i had before i woke up. as if i were in real life telling them--of course then i wake up for real, and have to tell those people AGAIN about the dream only this time they'll be hearing it lol. _________________ dreaming is believing. |

| I remember that when I was younger, I used to have continuing dreams. I think this happens, especially when you write them down, because it's on your mind. One time, I had a dream that reminded me of a previous dream that I had, and when I went back to sleep, I had the same dream that I was reminded of before. |
