Ok im new here so i dont know wether this topic has already been done to death but wet dreams are wet because we ejaculate, but I don't ejaculate when having an orgasm while lucid in a dream.
does this (not) happen to any one else?
any known reason why?

Yep, sex in lucid dreams does not result into ejaculation. Strangely (luckily?).

So called "wet dreams" are rather likely to be false awakenings in which the dreamer expects to ejaculate by having engaged in sexual activities (in the dream), and by expecting so, dreams his orgasm without ever ejaculating for real (the body is paralyzed during REM!).

Other occassions, include real ejaculations during the night but ones that are not affected by dream content but rather a mechanic, biological build-in trigger that let's men naturally ejaculate in about two weeks if they haven't done so within that time. This ensures that the sperm is frequently regenerated in preparation for fertilization without "going old"...

Interesting stuff Wink

PS. So the term "wet dreams" is actually misleading

What you mean is that I can freely have sex in LD and I won't wake up in a wet bed? Wink

This is VERY good to know, I find myself often ending dreams on purpose in certain situations, but now I guess I won't. Thanks Tim Smile

Does this also mean that if you tell people you don't have wet dreams, they know you've either been.... "purging your seed" through some other means?

We have erections all the time in REM-sleep. I read about a test where you can ask things from people which they'd normally not answer when they are in REM. The way to find out if they are in REM or not, was by checking for eye-movement, but if you are uncertain you can check for the second sign of dreams: an erection.

LaBerge tested whether or not people have orgasms in real life if they experience so in-dream. They don't, people's bodies only get a little bit more excited at that stage. (as described in 'Exploring the world of Lucid Dreaming').

Actually I'm afraid I have ejaculated after lucid dream intercourse on many occasions. Usually I would then wake up afterwards - so I sometimes have decided within the dream to avoid or interrupt intercourse, so that the dream is not cut short.

i have to agree with Nicos. I've only had 3 occasions when i woke up with a mess. But one was after a lucid dream, and i remember feeling like i was ejaculating in the dream and then woke up and was still doing it. You can have fun while lucid, but i think you can wake up with a mess or making a mess. At least, that's the case with me, although rare. It's pleasant,Wink but annoying to have to get up and change.

I wonder if the same goes for peeing. (almost) Everybody has had a dream where he or she went to the toilet and all of a sudden you wake up in a wet bed. If you would go to the toilet in a LD, would you be stupid enough to really pee if you do it in-dream?

I'm not about to try it out.
Although we do have some diapers at home, so if no one wants to sacrifice his dignity for me, I'm going to have to try it...
But, if no one cares, I won't, I'm not going to waste that much for that little knowledge.

And I want you all to give me money.

^ Usually when I have to pee, it's incorporated into my dreams. One morning I dreamt Sting was teaching another guy from The Police to pee in public. I was the other guy, and as I tried to pee, I felt blocked, like a force stopping me from doing it. Then I woke up and went to the bathroom.

But I do admit I've wet my bed a couple of times. In one dream I was at a friend's house, and in the hallway I peed all over his shoes. I woke up sort of startled, and thought how I could've been that stupid not to realize it.

My advice, don't eat oranges before bed. Wink

I talked about lucid dreaming with my cousin lately, and he has had a lucid dream where he did wake up in a sticky bed. So it was a wet dream combined with lucidity. He proved it's possible, you just have to time your lucidity properly.

He is just a lucky bastard, though, because he has been lucid a couple of times and recalls dreams about three times a week, whereas I didn't recall anything AT ALL before I started my lucidity project.
He needs about 6 or 7 hours of sleep a night. I usually sleep from 8-9,5 hours a night.
