That sucks man. But now, at least, you're able to lucid vividly, right? No need to dwell on the past Very Happy

Anything that has to do with rethinking your own consciousness has to be worth it, right? After reading about I knew I had to try it. Then after experiencing it, I knew I would never stop. I've been lucid dreaming for a while now, and the idea of being conscious of the dreamworld is just as amazing as ever. It never loses its awesomeness. I do wish though that it didn't take such a consistent effort. Dry spells are hard to avoid.

yeah, I'm exactly the same way. It's true, you just have to keep at it. I know I've had many dry spells, but yesterday I had 3 lucid dreams

Because my life lacked too much. I am a frequent imaginer (constantly drifting off) And have so many life's dreams (if that makes sense) that are impossible.
Believe me, I spend every moment of my life I am not focusing on 1 thing imagining things I wish could be.
So I find out I can do anything I want.
So here I am.
ALSO- my signature >=)

Haha one night in July of '09 I couldn't sleep so googled "how to fall asleep". It came up with a youtube video showing how to sleep and in the sidebar where youtube gives you suggestions I saw "Control your Dreams and Fall Asleep Fast With the WILD Technique". It has built up from there.

I didn't choose to start lucid dreaming, it just started happened on its own when I was young, and has continued happened ever since. Being a child I had no idea others didn't dream in this manner until much later. Yet as I have grown the lucid dreams are less frequent but much more vivid and longer lasting.

I never needed to use any techniques to bring about lucidity and never bothered trying up until a few years ago with no significant improvement in rates of achieving such a state. Therefore I just dream and let dream, the lucidity will happen when it wishes. However I have read up on dreams and dreaming and lurked on forums (like this one) for years to build up knowledge.

Now I am finally coming to terms with my dream life and wishing to record the legacy it has left me with over the course of my past thus far.

That's exactly the same reason I had in mind!! I wanted to be able to lucid dream during the school year to take a break from all the stress and work.

Ive always been obsessed with the idea of flying, Ive jumped really high, but never flew. I know flying will be incredible and I could spent hours looking at incredible places I could think of. That's why I started.

This hasn't really to do with advanced lucid dreaming. Put in 'general' for now.

For me, there are really two reasons. First, it's about regaining time. I'm going to spend one third of my life sleeping. That's decades of lost time! Even if I can just remember my non-lucid dreams better and appreciate them more, I'll be able to regain months or years of lost time over my life. That in itself is worth it.

Second, to be blunt, life sucks. The place I'm at right now is not at all where I want to be, and there are a lot of things holding me back that are mostly beyond my control. Lucid dreaming offers both an escape and a method to retrain my subconscious to take control of things that I don't control. I hope to ultimately use my dreamworld to help me improve my life in the waking world, and if I can have some awesome dream experiences along the way, so much the better.

I think that I started so that I could be relieved from the stress that's been weighted on. Lucid dreaming took me a long time to achieve but it made me realize that the reason we don't get everything instantly is so we can enjoy them much more so when they actually happen. I just wish that our memory was better connected to our dreams so that I didn't feel as if the dreams werent a part of me when I know they are.

And... I'm trying to find something out about myself that I don't even know. I got close once but I awoke before my answer.

Asking why is the wrong question. The correct question is "Why not?".

However, to put it in the simplest possible terms, I think everyone has an obligation to maximize the amount of time they spend alive. I do not consider regular sleep to be living, rather, I consider it to be akin to death.

The heart pumps, but the mind is not there.

My eventual goal is to combine the techniques of polyphasic sleep with lucid dreaming, and attain 24-7 consciousness.

My immediate goal is successful initiation of a lucid dream, and research into achieving lucidity every time I dream successfully and a method that shall allow me to achieve REM instantly.

If various talk of being able to communicate with the unconscious mind is true, I wish to open dialogue with it and work out a way to eradicate sleep altogether, except when I want it-- though this is closer to pipe dream than actual goal.

I was searching for Binaural Beats for they were so bizarre I wanted to see if they worked or not. As I went through the list, I saw something called "Lucid Dreaming." Curious to see what it was, I Googled it. I was amazed Very Happy ! This is what began my Lucid Dreaming quest! Mr. Green
