Robert Monroe and his friends developed the ability to continue hearing and talking whilst astral projecting.. It might be similar, although they used a technique called phasing; probably different than dreaming.

You shouldn't be able to move much when you are sleeping. With some exceptions.. sleepwalkers for example, have a sleep disorder.

Perhaps, if you sleepwalk frequently and in accuracy (like the ones who make a meal while they are sleeping) then perhaps it would be possible. But then again, i've not heard of a lucid sleepwalker before :p

I'm also pretty sure that as a normal healthy person, you would wake up if you move your fingers to type. You would feel your real body and get direct external impulses in your dream which in most cases wake you up.

As far as i know the only way of communicating are either talking in your sleep (which doesn't make much sense, but its some sort of communication i guess) or through REM (which is one-sided communication).

i do sleepwalk and i seem to be able to do things that are very complicated, such as but not limited to,
Unlocking chain locks that i could not reach,
navigating to a swing set and swinging,
punching someone,
and walking through an unfamiliar house.
this might be possible if the person could control how they moved in real life while they are in a dream, i will try it next time i have a lucid.

This one time i woke up at really early and then moved my hand and placed it on the side of my bed for some reason, then i fell asleep again and i dreamt i was in the exact same position so i moved my hand away and turned over, then i woke up realizing i had not turned over yet my hand was moved! Call this what ever you want but i believe i did actually manage to control my body using my mind?

You can move your eyes and send signs like that.

You can communicate during dreams. Rapid eye movements are linked to eye movements during the dream. During studies at Stanford university, the lucid dreamer would do a certain eye movements during the dream for communication purposes and a machine would detect the eye movement

When people talk to me whilst in a dream I answer them, people find that very funny and asks me lots of strange questions - which wakes me up after a while since in my dreaming pespective find the questions irrational and "making no sence" distorting the dream.

For me personally it would "maybe" be possible to talk back from a lucid dream. Cant really see why not since I talk in my sleep all night anyway without waking up. But who knows... need a lab to try that one out..
