[directed to the people who think their parents aren't worth dirt]
I hate how most of the people here are basically saying how stupid their parents are.
Just because someone thinks or acts differently than you or believes something that you don't, never ever revile them like that! Even if they're the ones doing it to you first, be the bigger person about it and don't go online and tell a bunch of people "how silly" or "how stupid" they are, and especially don't lie to them, like I saw someone post here a while back.
That's my opinion of course, but I'm pretty biased due to the fact that my parents have always accepted me no matter how many weird things I got into like anime and lucid dreaming. They're both Christians (so am I) and it kind of amazes even me that they take my interests so lightly. But, I think it's because they trust me not to take it too far. You have to meet your parents halfway: Give them a reason to trust you or agree with you. They aren't unreasonable (in most cases). Misinformation is the enemy here, not your parents. |

My mom believes me, but my dad thinks the only way I'll prove it is if I write two pages a night for a week on my dreams. I dislike writing down my dreams since I usually drift off onto another subject and forget my dream while I start writing about it.
My mom is an open spiritual person, while my dad is a... well I doubt I can post it here. |

I have excactly the same "problem". My parents don't think I'm insane but they don't think it's really great that I'm doing this. They were like: "Well, do your thing. But don't think we are going to help you with this weird stuff." They didn't literally said that but I just know that. I just don't talk about it with them anymore and that works fine for me |

| Love this topic!! I have a salon, and it is very interesting how people react when I talk about my new amazing hobby! Some people just completely shut down, and have no idea why someone would put in the effort to do this. Well, they OBVIOUSLY have no clue how amazing it is. Most just think I am into dream analysis, which is interesting, but I always say what I do is completely different. Some ask, "what do you hope to accomplish?" I answer "Anything I want!!!" |

Well out of my own personal experience Its the unknown to alot of people in the world so when you suggest something so amazing and yet so impossible if they think its impossible and crazy then guess what its impossible and crazy same thing goes if your in a dream state of mind if you don't believe you can do it you cant.
i have the privilege that my dad and sometimes my mom will listen too my dreams and ill explain to them what happened and how i realized i was dreaming and my goals etc but once i tried to talk about it a little with friends on the outside they think im nuts. |
