Have you ever searched the forum for a thread about magic we have used in dreams? Well, I did. I didn't find much. My hopes are to open the possibilities of lucid dreaming so that people who have tried for so long don't give up hope! Magic is the most inspiring topic of movies, and all wish to harness its power. So I propose to start a thread completely dedicated to harnessing the power of magic! Here's what I could think of:

Elemental Magic: Ice

Personal
Create an Ice Path
Teleport through an Ice Block

Offensive
Summon Sharp Icicles
Summon Hailstorm

Defensive
Blow cold wind
Freeze

For all who offer their time, thank you for inspiring the community of lucid dreamers to never give up hope of lucid dreaming!

Have you ever used magic in dreams? All I've ever done is to dissapear things or make them appear.

I personally have not had an LD yet, but it all makes sense. By expecting something to happen, it happens. For example, when we take a breath underwater, (Real World) we expect water to rush in. In an LD, the same thing will happen. If you rewire your brain to expect air to come in, you will breathe in air. Same thing with magic. You need to rewire your brain to tell yourself, "OK. When I focus on the space in front of me, ice will appear." You cannot be skeptical. You need to believe (know (expect) ) something to happen. Good luck! Wink

Great news! I did have my first lucid dream today. The only problem was, I was too busy asking questions to someone (See my dream "Classmate in Georgia") to try and do anything funny, though I tried throwing fireballs. I believe I had used a mix of WILD and DILD. I fell asleep with my mind wondering whether I could muster the courage to attempt WILD. (I saw a scary video of someone's hallucination) So obviously, my mind was going. (Surprised I didn't have a nightmare Confused ) Read the full story! ("Classmate in Georgia")

The trick is to imagine fire. If you tell your mind that fire is this red thing, it will be a red thing. Here's a good exercise:
Pick something. Anything. In real life, make it something else with your mind, (eg: your friend Scott has a watermelon head) without closing your eyes. Once you get the hang of it, do the same thing with dreams. Imagine seeing a fire ball erupting from your hand while performing a motion. Eventually, your brain will associate the hand thrust (or whatever) with a fireball. In your case, it sounds like you're giving your brain an abstract idea of what a fireball is. You're probably imagining a fireball as what Mario throws. Try to tell your brain that this:

is a REAL fireball Razz! If you think of it, try and give me an image of what your fireball looks like.

I've seen this post like 5 times because of the new answers, maybe so the rest of people. Laughing

I've only wanted to throw lightning, but never have. What I do have done is throwing light balls DBZ style, only once.

You know what would be a good idea? To make appear a staff, like design it outside, visualice it a lot and then remember to summon it into the dream, so it can help you to do magic.

Well, still. That's only around 30 views for us. What about the other 75?

What's DBZ mean?

Using my SILD method, (see Methods and Techniques > SILD (Scenario Induced Lucid Dreaming)) you can envision your staff hanging up on the wall. A staff helps because our brain thinks, "A staff! They can do magic!" Because we have never used a staff to see if it works, our brain thinks it will work. If you are able to convince your brain that when you are dreaming, you can do magic, the staff or wand is merely for yourself.

Whatever DBZ means, I'm sure the community will be inspired Wink .

You could say they are magicians of destruction, more like warriors though. Here is a link to a DBZ amv:
