What made you decide on the skills you use most? Using fire has never really crossed my mind in a dream, i always felt more comfortable with manipulation that couldn't be seen (im not sure why, maybe because im a big Star Wars fan).
I will give fire a try next time i have a LD, but was it the one that came naturally to you? or did you have to try to use it? _________________ who watches the watchmen? |

fire is natrual. i love any thing that has to do with vurning stuff so fire is easy. as tor telekenises i had to find a way to have perfect dream control first. so, i was able to use it in the last 2 ld that i had. also quick note for fire, set freezing cold water on fire. defys physics enough for your sub conscius to give you ultamite dream control (usually) _________________ my current goal: fly with wings, teleport, master dream fighting skills, epic battle vs my evil side. |

| When you have your first lucid dream, your going to wet yourself with joy. So much in fact that you will wake yourself up before you've had the chance to do much of anything. The more you lucid dream, the better you become at it. That is when you can do things like paralyze characters, and enjoy laughing at them. |

An LD never made me "wet myself with joy", but you're right, it's awesome. Paralyzing and laughing at dream figures is asking for trouble though. |

I've used fire elemental powers like what I have seen in Avatar: the Last Airbender, and flight and teleportation are staples of course. I once had a dream where I became lucid by trying to move objects with my mind and having it work! You wouldn't believe how thrilled I was to think I had actual magic powers for about 5 seconds. _________________ |

Alright...here's my biggest personal preferences, although I would write a damn novel about this if prompted to
Elements of choice: Fire and Arcane
favorite spells (in no particular order): Teleportation, The "snap ignite" (basically, you snap directly at someone or something and it completely catches on fire), Summoning a weapon with my mind.
Mind you, I still have a lot of practice to do. I'll add more later if I think of anything I think I should put _________________ On a scale of 1 to Lucid Dreaming, how AWESOME was that? |

Magic, Eh? Don't all lucid dreams have some kind of magic? I walk through closed doors, fly, hover, change the colors of things...I just made a tree grow with my eyes, separated conjoined twins with my hand...now the real magic will be to make my ex disappear from my dreams and make my dead celeb crush get there for good. That will take a magic wand, I suspect. _________________ I'm goin' in... |

For example, when we take a breath underwater, (Real World) we expect water to rush in. In an LD, the same thing will happen. If you rewire your brain to expect air to come in, you will breathe in air. Same thing with magic. You need to rewire your brain to tell yourself, "OK. When I focus on the space in front of me, ice will appear." You cannot be skeptical. You need to believe (know (expect) ) something to happen. Good luck! | somtimes in a dream i can breathe underwater but only if i do so through my nose |

I wouldn't necessarily call it magic, athough some of the ideas would be traditionally considered magic in real life. If you are altering your dream in any way, it's technically "magic".
I would divide this "magic" in it's more traditional sense into three categories:
1: Destruction- that's right, fireballs and earthquakes and lightning and explosions. All of that cool, enpowering stuff that involves destroying things- the kind that you would use in an LD fight with a dream-character magician.
2: Creation- Spawning universes, growing trees in seconds, building castles... yeah, technically, everything comes under this category, since you are creating the fireballs/earthquake from the destruction category but I think of this category as more of a spiritual thing: you're building the dream-world, not trashing it.
3: Transformation- changing one thing to another, like shape-shifting and manipulation of what's already there in the dream-world.
Yeah, these categories are kind of dumb, but it's fun to think of the possibilities. Perhaps the categories should be completely different? I don't know. All I know is you can't force dream magic, you have to let it happen and be expecting it. Don't try to create a fireball, just let the dream do the work and look away for a moment, feel the heat on your hand blossoming and turning into flame, know that the gas has ignited in your palm, know what you are going to see when you look back at your hand and then viola! Believe in your power to create the magic, but cheat by letting expectations and the dream itself do the work for you. |

Agreed. While I've never actually tried "magic of any kind I'd like to have a dream where I go all "Dumbledoor" on everyone I meet. With teh Elder wand of course |

I did telekinesis - I was aiming for teleportation but I got telekinesis instead.
I would love to shape shift, able never done that. The onme time i tired wings while flying it felt weird so I forgot about them (Too cumbersome).
I haven't tried magic really.
I would also love to read minds.
Turning into water would be cool, like that Maria girl from Staticshock, if anyone remembers her. Ave a thing with water, dream it all the time.
But seriously i never thought about doing magic, i was always happy with flying over random masses of water, or getting to the nearest shaggable male.
Vampire style seduction anyone? (but that's not magic ) |
