It started about a week ago that i go to bed at 9:00 pm to have about 9 hours of sleep.
Since i´m a beginner and trying to improve my dream recall i want to sleep the whole night and not wake up the whole time.
Now here is the Problem:
For some time now I wake up about 3-4 times per night and need some time to get back to sleep slowly falling asleep again. I have no problems or something like this so what could be the reason?
is it possible that i realise when i shortly wake up from my dreams?
Because of this "interruptions" it is very hard to remember my dreams in the morning and sometimes i remember nothing.
PS: sry for the bad english Laughing

Hi Nidaime, welcome Smile
To answer your question: I think those awakenings are natural micro-awakenings, of which most people are not aware. You can use them to do certain techniques, like MILD and WILD. But I understand that you don't want to do that if you have to do something the next morning.
I am not sure whether it's the micro-awakenings that interfere with your dream recall, though. Also, you might be able to have recall during those awakenings, so quickly scribble down a few notes before falling asleep, or at least repeat the dream in your head once.

Try to stay in the same position ( very important ) when you wake up and try to think what was it that you might have experienced since you gone sleeping...

Yes, I have also faced these problems last week. I think it was happening to me because I was facing a lot of exam stress at that time. That is why my mind was not silent at that time, therefore I was unable to get continuous sleep. For a good sleep we should keep our mind silent, then everything goes smoothly.

yes, these are most likely micro-awakenings. everyone has them constantly throughout the night but they are usually unaware of them. you probably have started noticing them simply due to the fact that your life is starting to revolve more around sleep due to lucid dreaming training etc.

to my knowledge, recognising these awakenings should not effect the quality of sleep (because they are naturall, the only difference now is that you are aware of them) as long as you quickly get back to sleep once you have realised you have woken up (possibly also by using techniques such as WILD and MILD as Thunal previously suggested).

micro-awakenings are awesome anyway Razz there's nothing better than waking up knowing that you are alowed to go back to sleep ^^
