Last night, my dead grandma was in my dream. I thought to myself "my grandma is dead, I must be dreaming." But to be sure, I looked at the numbers on a near by house and looked away. I did it a few times but the numbers were the same everytime. That's happened a few times. Is there a more fail-proof RC I could do?

Your hands or a clock. The problem with a house number is that that number will always be the same and that's how your brain sees it as the same... Everytime. Hope that helps.

I would say that numbers only work if your brain comes up with them on the spot, i.e. some random combination (like the time). I'm guessing with a house number, it's coming from a memory you've already got, so the numbers aren't likely to change (or at least if your brain does come up with it, it's a relatively simple number to remember)

I think themanofdreaming is right: a clock's going to work better. It's common, and - in reality - it's likely to have a random number on it whenever you look, rather than a house number - which wouldn't.

Hope this makes some sense... Rolling Eyes

Cheers,
Nick

Nose-pinch. Works every single time you do it properly.

Pinch your nose closed, then try to breathe through it. If you can, you're dreaming. By far the most solid reality check around, IMO.
