Drugs in dreams

I've actually gotten high in a dream before.
Basically it was so unbelievable because I got high in a spaceship and partied it up in there.

I have dreamed about taking magic mushrooms, and when I woke up, I felt kinda trippy, until I convinced myself that I would never take hallucinogen in the middle of the night. After that the trippy feeling was over.

I've never smoked within a dream personally but I know that I have drank within dreams quite frequently and I feel the affects of the alcohol. In fact in a dream I just posted I drink so much in a dream that I black out and wake up in a different place. However I don't believe that I was hungover in the dream when I woke up. If I was it was very brief.

As far as drugs affecting REM sleep, most of the research does seem to say that drugs and alcohol reduce the duration of REM but I personally find that the nights I go to bed drunk I have some of my most vivid and interesting dreams and that I have no problems remembering them. At least a couple of these have been somewhat lucid.

Another interesting point. Where I smoke cigarettes in real life I don't think I've ever had a cigarette within a dream.

That would be cool if you could get high in the dream world WOW this just reminded me..

A while ago I had a dream (non lucid) of being in a random back yard, and in the garden were massive marijuana plants with tomato plants all around. For some reason I had a feeling that my dad was coming over (he hates weed in real life LOL), so I decided to pick all the juicy buds and hide them. They were insanely chronic from what I could see (covered in crystals, with a light green haze). I don't remember smelling anything. I was to caught up in the dream to realize that I could just smoke it without getting in trouble. I worried about getting in trouble so much that it woke me up.

Ahh anyway, thought I'd share that
