Hey, just wondering what some of you guys might think about this. Confused I constantly dream of Zombies and Apocalypses and its actually been even more frequent lately. (to clarify I'm not obsessed with them or anything in my waking life though I do like games like Resident Evil shows like The Walking Dead) I've only had a handful of fully lucid dreams and when I've recognized these re-occurring themes I've only been able to become semi-lucid. Usually I'm to afraid to do anything in them or I just try to hide or something. Basically I can acknowledge I'm dreaming but get to distracted by fear (or other emotions) to act on it. (reality checks and such) In a different environment I don't seem to have any problems getting to a higher lucid state. Any suggestions on what I might do. Should I just focus on my intention to not get freaked out before I dream??? Also what do you think these dreams could stem from? It's an awfully dark thing to have floating around your subconscious so much..
Thanks, Lee
P.S. This isn't too big of a deal btw just was wondering what some opinions might be

You should always do that, but don't think in negatives (see what I did there... Razz). Your brain doesn't process negative suggestions (... don't think about a pink elephant). Focus on recognizing the situation when dreaming about zombies or an apocalypse (= training prospective memory) and make a habit of remembering how you got in your current situation (= training your retrospective memory).

Could be just because you play zombie games and watch zombie shows. While you're awake, you might consciously think it's not a big deal, but your subconscious might pick it up more easily and while asleep, it's your subconscious that reigns. It might be your subconscious thinking that you need training for a possible zombie apocalypse or something, I don't know, I'm not a psychologist. Razz

In any case, recurring themes are always a gift: they can teach us a lot about ourselves and they provide an easy way to become lucid!

I have only had one zombie dream in my life. During the dream I was at someone's house. An old woman called to her daughter and asked her for a kiss. The daughter was a zombie and bit her. This turned the old lady into a zombie. I took a baseball bat and beat both of them before running outside. There were many more zombies. I kept batting away at them until help arrived. Some strangers with firearms showed up to give me a hand. After surviving with that group for a while, I woke up.

Thanks for the response guys. (especially lence, definetely agreed with and liked your suggestion) Yeah for me like I mentioned I never am able to do anything against them, usually being paralyzed by fear and I become to focused with that and wont try to attempt becoming lucid. It's really a weird situation. Too scared to realize your dreaming. Ive been able to have 1 semi lucid dream which I totally ignored the zombies since I posted this topic though, so yeah thanks Very Happy

Just increase your general confidence and think about it this way. Even if it wasn't a dream, would you not want to give them as hard a time as possible before they can kill you. I think about it this way: If I'm going to die at their hands, I'll make them pay for every bit of my life before I go. And in fighting this way, I might just survive.
If you keep up that mentality, you will most likely conquer the zombies in your dreams. Probably in a manner similar to the way I survived in my dream.
