I heard somewhere that it is very important to hand write a dream journal instead of typing it. Is this necessarily true? I would prefer to just enter my dreams on this website and have that be the end of it.

I voice record them into my phone first, then type them Smile

I've never heard of anyone doing that but it's very interesting. Do you find it to help more in your dream recall or do you do it because you like to have both records of the dream?

Nah, it's bullshit. I got to 20 lucid dreams in 23 week (a bit late due to life getting in the way) by typing in my dream journal only.

I voice record because when recalling, I am too lazy to even get up. I might not feel like getting up to type, so I just grab the phone. I also like to recall them while driving to work, or on a morning stroll.

I do save a few of the recordings to re-live the real emotions that came along with the dreams, I can even hear the real fascination in my voice, if the dream contained a new type of lucid experience.

Voice recording + at the same time noting down keywords and making drawings + typing them down afterwards = hardcore mode. Cool

I often skip the last step though. Too lazy. Not recommended... the recordings and notes become pretty unintelligible after a few days. I probably won't make the oneironaut challenge because of this. Hmm.

I always type my dream journals and I've had several lucid or partially lucid dreams lately. I don't think it makes a difference how you record dreams, just that you're recording them so that you remember them.

I appreciate the feedback. Now here's another problem I've been having. It's being too lazy to wake up the first time, then going back to sleep in the morning.
I end up forgetting my first dream almost entirely and usually most of the second one too. Crying or Very sad

Whenever I can't get myself to write down my dreams at night I always go over them a couple times in my head and it helps me remember once I wake up. I usually run through them 3-4 times and do like a play-by-play in my head. Seems to work for me. I've thought about keeping a voice recorder with me in bed but I don't think the wife would like me waking her up talking to myself.
