It is possible to WILD when you are going to sleep. It's a little harder because you aren't as sleepy. You can also try to DEILD, this is a alternative. Same technique but you don't have to wake up for a few minutes in the middle of the night. You use so called "micro-awakenings". This is a small period of time (2-5 seconds) in which you commit a WILD. You fall asleep a lot quicker so you end up in a dream sooner.
