I need help
I have been lucid dreaming on and off and hit a wall here
I really want to meet with a specific person in my dream.
Once it happened when I wasn't lucid but I remembered it
Then it happened but I only saw the person.
Next I saw the person. He spoke to me and took me by the hand but everything was blurry. I didn't even have hands to look at to stabalize myself. Everything went black and I woke up.
Then nothing but countless tries. I'm lucid running through my dream calling his name... nothing.
Then I thought ok maybe if I think his name... nothing.
I'm at the point now where as soon as I start to sleep the scenario in my head is before me... everything but the person. Or I'm aware I'm dreaming almost right away.
Once I caught a glimse but.... I can never reach him.

I'm going INSANE.

Am I trying too hard?
Ugg please any help wiuld be appreciated.

Maybe it's because you don't expect him to be there.
I do not speak out of experience but I've heard from a lot of people that you can only make things happen in lucid dreams if you really believe they will happen.
Just remember that you're in control, you can make everything happen.

Just to clarify, are you saying that you want to dream of a specific person, or that you want to actually meet a specific person in a dream so that both of you remember it when you wake up? Because I can interpret it either way at the moment, heh.

Not exactly. I want to meet someone specific in my dream. They don't know this nor are they a lucid dreamer.

my best idea would be find or create a door and thoroughly expect that they will be behind it. announce out loud that they will be behind that door. then open it.
Ive heard that works. Good luck.

In my experience, the more you badly WANT someone to appear, the more they won't. Oh, I have been there. Tried the expect him to appear behind a door, I tried asking the dream. And they still didn't appear. Wanting too much, desiring to see this person somehow links to the result of them not showing up.

That was my experience with a past crush. If this person you want to summon is especially linked to strong feelings, strong desires and potent experiences. That definitely makes it harder.

In cases of summoning persons who are more [sic] fangled. That is celebrities and actors, and people not attached to any core experiences, linked with positive emotions might be less tasking. I have tried asking a Dream Character to change into someone I wanted to see. He shifted but turned into some one else( I also liked).

I suggest doing some dream inoculation. Think about who you want to dream about as you fall asleep, keep it in my mind, why you want to meet them. You might like writing it out as soon as you wake up and reading it before bed. Day dream as you fall asleep but not to hard, just let it come.

Personally I can tell you, this worked for me sometimes but with my crush, when ever I would think of him before bed and the past, /i would then think, "I don't want to dream you." And that night most chances is I would dream of him. It's the same reason why they tell you when your doing MILD, that you say 'Tonight I will realise I am dreaming, is this a dream , Am I dreaming." Rather than, "Tonight, I will LUCID DREAM...." If you say lucid dream in a mantra, you won't. Expecting someone to appear in your dream is also like that. So you must do it but not want it too much. Just a thought or two to hang on to as you fall asleep.

Another thing if he is tied in strongly to some desire of yours, when you do dream him, you might not even go lucid, even when you reality check. It will fail because subconsciously you will not believe your dreaming, you will believe it's reality. Since you want to see him so badly, all your focus and awareness will get drowned out.

You might not just have enough control. I have been told everything in regards to summoning people, but I can't do it. And I suspect because I just don't have the skills to do so. People who video game have better control. They can summon objects and change locations because the video game is like an alternate reality just like a lucid dream.

Read my diary and in my earlier entries you will see how hard I tried. I eventually gave up. It was just too much. lol

Yes I have in a non-lucid dream. I am not sure if it is a sign of egotism to fall in love with part of one's own subconscious or not but it was a nice brief dream.

Here's my answer.( which is fairly similar to Solis Ryne's )

Ask yourself....Where would that person be?....Where did I meet them?....Bring to mind some memories you have of this person....And .." Oh there you are! "...etc.

Although it seems SO real. So far( until Mad Wifi Scientists can figure out the brain), your lucid dreams, well, are All you( so to speak ). It's your brain, processing, sorting things like; days events, memories, questioning old input to see if it's still useful...trying to predict the future... sending bodily soldiers to heal aches and pains Smile ...etc.

Now, having said that; If you've known someone for a while, and know them well. If you ask that person a question in your dream. They will "Probably" answer that question fairly accurately; how you would expect them to , in reality.
That's where lucidity comes in handy.
Although, you already knew how they were going to answer. Didn't you? lol...

Anyway; There they are...In your dream...Just the way you remember(ed) them...What now? ....

Careful....Someone might be watching!
Might end up standing in your underwear in the middle of a crowd.
Wink
lol...Sorry.

- Here's some fun....If you are lucid, and you meet a friend. Ask them a question...A hard one...If you can. Next time you meet them, for real...Ask again...Then compare the response.
How'd you do?....How well do you know your friend?(in the now; today)

Hi there,

I have browsed the site before, finding it interesting, but this topic pushed me to make an account myself. There was a girl in my life whom I always wanted to be closer to, yet reality and circumstances made it impossible. I would always dream about her when i didn't want to and yet I, at first, struggled with getting her to enter my dreams.

As has been said, I found the best way to find her was to go to where she was, and where I had memories of speaking with or hanging out with her.

I should note that I have been lucid dreaming since I was about 7, but I'll make a separate post for that because it's a good story! But with relevance, I am experienced in teleportation or shifting or whatever you call it, going through a physical door in my dreams i can often enter any building I am thinking of once lucid.

So imagine the quickest route to reaching this person. If you can get there, chances are they can be there. Just wish them to be there, but do NOT, in desperation, "search" for them or it can often turn into an environment of fear and anxiety, and the person will be hard to bring in.

I think I'm really going to like this forum. It's very nice to find fellow dreamers here.

I've always had really good success saying out loud (loudly, as if I'm speaking to the sky/world around me) "Show me [Name]" or "Bring me[Name]" and then waiting wherever I am in my lucid dream. Surprisingly, it works almost every time within a few moments

This is my first time i visit here. I found so many entertaining stuff in your blog, especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the leisure here! Keep up the excellent work.
