Hello Everyone,

I have been researching this and I have seen some people ask, and I realize that from the responses that there is no real cure. So I thought I would explain why people want it to stop, at least why I want it to stop.

When I fall asleep I lucid dream, every night. I could do it when I was a child, and thought it was cool, so I researched it and found various techniques to lengthen my lucidity and control my dreams. So I have been doing this for about 22 years, or since I was 8 years old. Once I was about 15 I began to be able to control my dream and setting, and I used my time in my dreams to figure out problems I was dealing with in the day. I am conscious I am dreaming, and I am conscious of things I am dealing with in the waking world.

So for me, since I have been about 15, or half my life, I'm 30, I cannot utilize sleep to escape my problems or rest my mind. Now I can drink. Drunken slumber causes me to not dream, but I have to be really drunk, and one can see why I wouldn't want this to be a permanent solution.

I never get to actually rest. It's not what its all cracked up to be. I realize that I am not a normal case, and that most people have to attempt to lucid dream, and it can be fun. I particularly enjoy shooting lightning from my hands. (Straight up, I solve a lot of problems in my dreams with a lightsaber) But when I see people ask how to stop and others want to know why you would want to, there is a bit of the reason why. I feel like I have been awake for 15 years, and 1/3 of the time, I'm a sith lord. So I often question my sanity, which is my only real indicator I still have it.

You should see a therapist for this type of problem rather than asking strangers on the internet.
