Learning lucid dreaming

Learning lucid dreaming

Introduction

Hi, my name is Tim Post and I will be your lucid dream instructor during this online tutorial program.

First of all, welcome to Lucidipedia. Thank you for visiting us. Whether you already have some experience with lucid dreaming or not, doesn't really matter here. We will start from the very beginning, covering all the basics and move up to the more advanced techniques along the way.

I can see you haven't used Lucidipedia's dream journal yet to journal dreams. Make sure you do have your own Lucidipedia account and sign up before we continue. Remember that you can always attend our online classes to get more help with inducing lucid dreams or to get into more advanced techniques.

WBTB technique

As you can see on Lucidipedia's Lucidity Radar below, the tiny red dots represent lucid dreamers all over the world who are currently using Lucidipedia to learn lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming has become a global phenomenon. That is why we feel the need for proper and grounded learning material is called for and is provided here at Lucidipedia.com.

Lucidity Radar

If you are already knowledgeable of lucid dreaming, you are probably interested what this basic tutorial course has to offer. Based on scientific research conducted by the renowned Lucidity Institute (located at Stanford University) on the topic of lucid dreaming, we strongly argue to inform you of the most widely recognized lucid dream techniques around: the Wake Back To Bed technique or Napping technique.

Studies of the Lucidity Institute indicate that combined with MILD (Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreaming), the WBTB technique improves your chances of becoming lucid by about 20 times. Because the WBTB technique is the most promising technique to have lucid dreams, we have decided to ground Lucidipedia's basic course onto this very effective technique.

What these tutorials don't cover

Don't expect any special-fancy-self-created techniques about lucid dreaming at Lucidipedia. All the so-called "THIS WILL WORK" and "100% guaranteed" tricks you'll find today while browsing the internet are mostly invented by students who do not properly understand the scientific grounds upon which the Lucidity Institute has designed the original lucid dream induction techniques. Or lack the willpower to employ them, obviously. Trust me, these techniques work.

You need some additional support to fully and properly apply them into your own training, just as I needed this support at the time when I was practicing lucid dreaming. My aim for Lucidipedia's tutorial course is as follows: let's stick to the original scientifically researched methods and techniques and let me present you new ways to integrate and practice those techniques in your everyday training with dozens of video tutorials to give you a head start.

If you are committed and dedicated enough to apply the methods and techniques that I am about to show you, you will likely have your first lucid dream in about a month. Be sure to keep a close eye on any online lectures and workshop that we schedule that might complement your skill set. Ready to start?

Lucid dreaming mp3

If you would like to continue learning on your iPod at night or during an upcoming holiday trip, please feel free to download Lucidipedia's mp3 audiobooks of this complete tutorial section and more. Enjoy listening to Lucidipedia when you are on the road, at school or at night while falling asleep. Keep in mind though that this audiobook is outdated. Always benefit from the latest most recent material by visiting this website online or attend one of our online classes.

Video tutorials

Some years ago, I founded the Lucidipedia project and decided to create a YouTube series dedicated to teach lucid dreaming and to share my lucid dream experiences on the web.

Though somewhat outdated, it still holds valuable information and provides insightful demonstrations on how to induce lucid dreams. I hope you enjoy.

Lucid dreamer Tim Post

I was 17 years old when I discovered lucid dreaming. Having acquired an university degree in educational psychology, I currently co-own Lucidipedia with Benjamin Wohl (who is responsible for all IT programming) and study and practice lucid dreaming for over 10 years now, give professional lectures and workshops nationally and internationally to organizations and institutes (e.g. universities, small business companies, correctional facilities, etc.) and individuals or groups interested in learning lucid dreaming. I have had countless lucid dreams, some of which lasted over 30 minutes with peak performances of 4 lucid dreams in one single night. Over time I have been invited to talk about lucid dreaming on national radio, national television, in national newspapers and popular magazines to tell about lucid dreaming.

Structure of the program

So let's start with an overview first. Learning lucid dreaming consists of three basic steps. You need to be able to: (1) recall dreams, (2) discover dreamsigns and (3) recognize dreamsigns. You can see that these lessons are located in the tutorials menu on the right. Feel free to access them whenever you feel like it.

However, be sure to stick to the structure of this tutorial program if you are a novice lucid dreamer and don't have much lucid dream experience yet. You need a structured start and a reliable basis of knowledge, skills and other regulative scaffolds to rely on. It is also recommended for more experienced lucid dreamers who still have trouble to induce lucidity, to start from the very beginning and stick to the structure of this program: do not skip any learning content if you feel you haven't mastered it and only move on if you are satisfied with the results you are making. Be serious about it. If you are, you will acquire a wonderful skill that you can apply anytime in your life. Make your first attempt to have lucid dreams count!

Literature I use

My knowledge of lucid dreaming is based on a wide range of scientific and popular literature on lucid dreaming.

In this video I provide you an overview of my favorite lucid dream books (outdated). Be sure to check out our books & movies page to learn about many more valuable lucid dream books and movies.

Prerequisites

Before you start learning lucid dreaming, consider some of the prerequisites of the program. How much time, discipline and effort are you willing to invest to learn lucid dreaming? Your answers on these important questions influences the effectivity of the program and consequently your success in lucid dreaming. So be sure to revalue your entry level if you intent to really become that expert lucid dreamer.

Learning curve

Learning lucid dreaming takes about four weeks of dedicated practice. At that time most people have experienced their first lucid dream. Truthfully, mastering lucid dreaming up to the level of multiple lucid dreams in one single night, may take several years. There is a big learning curve. By every lucid dream you induce, your skill increases dramatically. It took me 7 days to induce my first lucid dream (without knowing about any technique other than dream recall) and like a few months to go beyond that reach more challenging levels. It mostly depends on your learning attitude and whether you already have had some lucid dreams in the past that determines the speed by which you will enjoy your first lucid dream.

Please feel free to start your training by joining me at the WBTB technique section.
